My schooling started in an average Baltimore City Public School where the systems were known for selling their achievement scores to the City so that an accurate number of jail beds could be built for the next year. When my grandparents found out I was relocated and suddenly I was kneeling at the local Episcopalian private school’s altar with a wafer in my mouth.
